Stash builder...

While others are busy using their stash, I am trying to build one. Look what the nice Mr. Postman brought for me today.

Freshsqueezedfabrics had an Heirloom sale last week and I couldn't resist. This is the second time shopping at Randy's Etsy shop and I have to say its brilliant service. Not only does she provide a customer service extraordinaire. She also wraps the fabric so well that you can't see it has travelled half way around the world. And thank goodness for that. One of the boxes it came in was wet (from rain?) and almost falling apart. Someone had taped it well but I was still anxious if the fabric would have been discolored and wet. I am happy to say that it was perfect - each set carefully wrapped in plastic bags.
Well,  in the shop there was some other must have's besides the Citrine Heirloom:

Heirloom Sapphire - FQ's and some yards

Blue and red scraps (most are larger than a FQ):

Some yardage - love the blue one:

Green fabrics - again most of these are larger than a FQ so there's a lot of fabric in this pile

And of course the fabric that I blame caused the whole thing - 2 Citrine Heirloom FQ bundle's and some yardage. Half of it will be wrapped for someone special as a Christmas present and half will be saved for a future project.

Getting ready for pinwheels

After the quilt for my friend I decided that learning some basics would a really good idea. Not kidding... I tend to just jump in head first and make it up as I go. So I'm forcing myself to learn some quilt basics at this point.
I’ve done enough stars for a while now so I’m going to give it a go with pinwheels.  I was planning to join this quilt-a-long  but due to some unforeseen events it might be delayed or not happen at all so I might just go ahead on my own. We’ll see in the next couple of days.
Here are the fabrics I’m thinking of using. They have a retro feel and the colors are dusted blues, greens and chocolate brown. I found various bits and pieces in my local quilt shop. The more colorful ones are Hab-i-tat (a philosophy...a refuge) while some of the solids are from Moda.

It will be fun - looking forward to get started.

I also just bought a lot of Prince Charming and Heirloom (citrine color) fabric and are planning to do a more modern quilt after this one. But my mind is going in thousand different directions at this point and I have no idea what I will end up doing. I see so many fun and beautiful quilts out there that I want to make.

Oops...

See what popped into my basket today. Now hurry up Mr. Postman, Please....

Moda Oh My - I got a jelly roll and just a little extra for back and borders. Okay - a lot of ekstra but I can see so much use for this fun fabric.

And a few charm packs from Moda as well - there was a sale 3 for price of two
1x Moda Punctuation and 2 x Moda Fruitcake

And finally my alltime favorite - Moda Freebird - just a little charm pack.
Well two little charmpacks really. You just dont know when you need another.
