I had a bit of a set back... When I got back to the fabric store the linnen was sold out and I had to make do with what I had at home piecing the smaller pieces. It worked ok luckily and is hardly noticeable.
See the circular quilting? I like the texture of it. My husband says it reminds him of a Japanese garden because it looks like the pattern they make in the sand. I normally don't name my quilts but the name sort of fits this quilt. The giant fans looks like flowers too.
Now to quilting it a bit more and I should start to find a suitable border. Background is (needless to say) thick, luxurious fleece in a beautiful dark blue. Maybe a bit 'easy' but it's the fleece quilts that gets all the usage around here. It's so soft you can actually see my footprint in it.
It's beautiful and the name is perfect.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteQuilts should be used. That is a gorgeous quilt and I love the quilting. Having lived in Japan I have always admired their meticulous gardens.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful Japanese Garden!
