Two blocks... Which one to use for the 3x6 Bee? The verdict awaits you.
My boys both favors the same block. I like the other:
Both blocks are from the book ' Simply Sensational 9-patch Stars' by Carol Doak's.
Funny enough the fantastic Rita published a block from the same book last week. I had made another star first and decided to do the next star in the same colors but in 'Rita style'. It's the first block with the text fabrics. Yes, I want to be Rita when I grow up LOL.
The book is wonderful though. I learned some piecing techniques I didn't know and now I like paper piecing SO much better. It's still messy, I still use the seam ripper from time to time but overall it looks much better than what I did before.
I have my eyes set on a few more stars in the book, but first I need to decide which of the above I should make for the Bee. Which one would you choose?
Gosh that is a tough choice. I like them both and the fabric choices and placement make them spectacular.
ReplyDeleteCool blocks!! I'm really digging the top one with the text corners.
ReplyDeleteI like the top one too - there's something about that little bit of text that just makes it extra special. I'm interested in which one you liked... and when do we stop wanting to be someone/thing when we grow up???
ReplyDeletethe bottom one is more unique, but the top one feels more balanced to me. Beautiful blocks!
ReplyDeleteToo hard to pick! They're both so pretty. Great fabric choices! I'm not very helpful since I can't choose one over the other!!
ReplyDeleteOh, this was difficult, they are both so beautiful! I would choose the first one. x Teje
ReplyDeleteThey are both so gorgeous! Your fabric choices are amazing… I'm going to say the second, just to be contrary. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh they are both gorgeous, Cille. I have just ordered the 50 Paper Pieced Stars book by Carol Doak and am eagerly awaiting that to arrive....again inspired by Rita!! lol
ReplyDeleteI love the top one, cos I am totally into text fabrics at the moment.
Wow, they look great! I have the book from Carol Doak too, but it is just running on my old Apple not on the new one...
ReplyDeleteI love the first one. They are both great. And wonderful fabrics. But the first one appeals to me just a smidge more.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh! What awesome stars. Personally I like #1 the best.
ReplyDeleteCille, those are both so fabulous! I want to be just like you when I grow up! The first one definitely holds my eye the most.
