Finished:
I made a pouch using this tutorial. I didn't do a scrappy pouch as I had a very busy piece of fabric. I lined it with dots and it's really very cute. I decided I will keep this one myself as it is a first and I think it shows. Like the placement of the magnet. I will however make a few more bags like this one for Christmas presents.
New project:
Another Christmas present - brand new tutorial on Moda Bakeshop. This will be for my niece as it's just as funky as she is. This is only 1/4 of the quilt. It will be 6x6 circles and then I'll add a border. The background is light grey and the prints are leftover from a HST quilt I did a while ago.
Yesterday I got the light grey fabric and glued on the cuts. Next is applique :) I know the colors are really bad but I can only photograph at night.
Ongoing:
The Kaffe Fasset Sashed Diamonds quilt is slowly growing. I still can't decide if I want to do traditional diamonds or boxes. Luckily I have plenty of time to decide - there is a long way yet.
That's all for me. Life is busy with work and family but I'm happy for every hour of quilting I can squeeze in my schedule. Quilting keeps me sane :)
Love the bag and the tumbling blocks!!!
ReplyDeleteThe bag looks so cute (: I might have to try and see if I can make one when I make the other bags I have planned for the fall break in 2 weeks..
ReplyDeleteIf I had to choose I would do the diamonds in the boxes, but I don't think I'll ever have the courage to try a project like it (:
Your two quilts are looking good! That moda pattern is very striking :)

Oh! That *is* a difficult decision. The diamonds look so fantastic both ways!
ReplyDeleteWow - your two quilts are looking fantastic! The bake shop quilt is so unusual - looks difficult - ha. I'll have to check it out! I especially love your diamonds in the diamond view - amazing!
ReplyDeleteYou're projects look great. I really like the boxes.
ReplyDeleteHere I go thinking outside of the box again. . . With your diamond blocks, you could also do flowers if you wanted. Same layout as the blocks, but you add one solid diamond in as a break for the eye and you end up with 6 petal flowers.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh the Kaffe blocks are AMAZING! Seriously hard choice, as they look great both ways. I think I like the blocks best, very unique!
ReplyDeleteI love the way your circle quilt is turning out! I hope you're liking the tutorial!

Very cute pouch!!! And the quilt for your niece is looking good already. Everytime you posted a pic of the diamonds in the box layout I thought: "WOW that's crazy!"
ReplyDeleteThe Kaffe diamonds look amazing. Both layouts are fabulous, but I do love them in the boxes layout.
ReplyDeleteLove the new project. I have that one bookmarked for the future.
Cille you have some wonderful projects on the go! I just LOVE both those quilts. I like both layouts but the boxes layout wins it for my vote- so striking!
ReplyDeleteAnd lovely purse too! First time I've seen it made unscrappy and I love it. Thanks for linking to my tute! I wish my magnetic snaps would hurry up and arrive so I can make some more!
As soon as I saw that tutorial on Moda, I knew I wanted to do it! I see you felt the same (applique circle one). Looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe little purse is adorable and I love the look and feel of the geometric blocks you're working on.
