I had an idea about a quilt and couldn't sleep Friday night. Ended up in my sewing room instead and skipped sleeping all together.
It started out as some improv blocks with lots of fabrics lines
My old orphan bee blocks from fitted perfectly
And one by Sunday night it looks like this
Now I'm trying to figure out the next step. think I may have caught the quiltbug again...
Wow, step away from the sewing machine before it ignites... :o)
ReplyDeleteWeeeeee! It's very easy to play with such beautiful "building" blocks to start with!! No wonder you could not sleep... ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Cille! Looks fantastic! All the blocks match so well together and the colours are beautiful! x Teje
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be another great quilt with lots of orange (love that too)!
ReplyDeleteHave a look at borders in quilters cache, that might give you some ideas: chevrons, hourglasses?
Or another row of smaller log cabins?
I really like where this is going! I like the bold and bright colors in the improv blocks and how the surrounding piecing has more neutral backgrounds - it balances out so well!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking great!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great combination of blocks. I have also gone to sew in the middle of the night.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. Sometimes we get an idea and can't rest until we get it out on fabric.
