Wednesday WIP

A really short Wednesday WIP from me today.

I decided that it's now or never. I've been wanting to make a quilt inspirered from 'Feathering the Nest' for a long time. I love the the way it's constructed and the dancing ladies border.

I  have some Liberty prints saved - started making stars a while back but never got any further with it AND I miss an EPP project to make while watching TV, so it seems there's no better time than this.

Over the weekend I finished the LongJohn top for my baby rapidly growing son. He'll soon be 13 so this patterns seem just right for him - not childish and not too man-quilt-boring either. I've made it mostly of Kaffe Fasset and Michael Miller's duble wowen solids and then Joel Drewberry's 'Meadow' and some mixed FQ's from various lines. I LOVE the colors  :) All I need now is a trip to my LQS for some de-luxe fleece backing and figure out how to quilt it... It will be a while before he outgrows this one :)

  1. I absolutely love that book and your Liberty fabrics will be spectacular. I know you'll put your own special twist on this quilt and I'm excited to see what you come up with. If your son outgrows that quilt anytime soon you should start seeking early contracts with US professional basketball teams.

  2. Wow! the Long John quilt is great. Can't wait to see the progress with the Liberty prints on your other quilt.

  3. I love the book and I’m still working on the Tesselations quilt (thanks for the reminder...)! Can’t wait to see your version of the Dancing Dollies quilt, as I’ve only seen some made with very traditional fabrics!

  4. Great boy quilt. And you make me want to start another epp project. Maybe I should finish some first though!
