A little work in progress

There hasn't been so much action in my sewing room lately, but today I couldn't stay out and I've been sewing all day. I had all my LongJohn blocks ready and just needed to piece them. Stephanie @ Loftcreations has made the pattern. I really like it - its has a clean feel to it, it's great for showcasing the fabrics and  perfect for a boyquilt. It will be a Christmas present for my oldest who is fast outgrowing his old quilt. While I'm sure some boys would find it a bit boring to get a quilt, this one will not. He drags his quilt everywhere and use it every single day. He's so sad he's outgrowing it, so I know he will love to get a new and much bigger quilt.

Although today is grey, we and rainy and all my quilt holders are off playing basket, I can't help but show you to finished top. Just disregard the bad picture.  I've used a lot of Kaffe Fasset and Michael Miller dubble wowen solids with Joel Drewberry 'Meadow' and a few other mixed fq's I had. The solids have a depth to them in real life, that doesn't show on the picture. Clothesline pictures are not the best , but most importantly the colors are almost right.

P.S
I found on Friday that I had won the throw category in Amy's Bloggers Quilt Festival. I was equally part surprised and excited. Thank you so much for the support and the many kind words along the way. It's been fantastic and lot's of fun.
